A new polyester label material has just been launched with an ultra high tack permanent adhesive. Designated AM 401, the label material will have far reaching uses across asset labelling, the automotive industry and medical applications. In fact the polyester material will suit many applications where adhesion to rough or difficult surfaces has been a problem in the past. The labels have been successfully tested when applied to a fabric material and exposed to steam at 130°C.
The face material is satin white polyester and provides excellent print quality using thermal transfer printing and a resin ribbon.
The adhesive properties come from the careful choice of the adhesive type and a heavy coat weight (40 gsm). The material is however relatively easy to convert into labels using a standard flexographic label press.
The new label material is not expensive compared to existing polyester label materials and is now available in a wide range of label sizes.
